According to a Certificate of Registration that hangs on our shop wall, Whidden Florist came in to being on December 1, 1954. In light of recent economic changes and our world situation in general, it is amazing to me that a small floral business could last this long!
Keeping up with the latest trends keeps our business fresh. Many people have encouraged me to write a blog to reach out to the community, so this is my attempt.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Karen Conrad and I am the Manager for Whidden Florist. I have 38 years of experience in the floral industry. I began in a small town in Pennsylvania, helping my parents start up their business. After I married, I moved to Tampa and worked in several shops until I arrived at Whidden’s. There of course is much more to my story, but I’m not going to go there. It has always been my desire to operate Whidden Florist as though the Whidden Family still owned it. We have continued to build our business on the foundation that the Whiddens began some 61 years ago.
I like to think of Whidden Florist as “A Brandon Tradition with a Fresh Approach”
